If you can collect your Explorer from our workshop in Burnham-on-Crouch, we will let you know when your boat is ready. We will need to know the approximate pick up time so we can ensure your boat is ready and accessible when you arrive.
Boats can be transported on a roof rack, on a trailer or inside a vehicle (see gallery below). Please note the boat is 5.2 metres long. When you come, please bring straps to secure the boat and carpet pieces to sit the boat on.
If you want your boat to be shipped to you, there will be additional charges quoted to cover the cost of the crate, export duties and shipping costs. Please note that import duties and any other charges incurred at the destination are not included in the quote.
Please advise on the Quote Request Form whether you intend to pick your boat up from your local port or whether you want to have the boat delivered to its final destination.
Boats delivered within the UK or to nearby mainland Europe will be delivered by truck.
Please note that the delivery address must be accessible by a large truck – a fork lift truck is required to offload the boat. Alternatively, if arrangements with your local port allow, a cheaper option may be to unpack the boat from its crate at the port and transport it yourself to its final destination on a trailer or car roof rack.
If your boat is being shipped to you, it will be securely packed in a wooden crate (see gallery below): Width 95 cm, Height 70 cm, Length 5.2 m. The approx. weight is 200 kg and requires a fork lift truck to lift it. To open the crate, you will need a Pozi screwdriver or a Pozi bit in a drill. Please note that it is your responsibility to dispose of the wooden crate.
Road trailers for an Explorer should be a minimum length of 3.5 m from the front of the ball hitch to the axle.
A dinghy trailer can be used to move the boat around a boatyard, or it can be transported on the wheels it is supplied with.
Depending on the country it is being shipped to, paperwork and duties vary. Our UK based shipping agent will deal with all export paperwork but import paperwork will be done locally in the country of destination. Please note that Rannoch Adventure accepts no liability for any import duties or charges made at the destination. We advise that you make the relevant enquiries locally in advance of any purchase.
To accept a quote and place an order, a 25% deposit of the total amount is required. Bank / payment details will be detailed on the quote. Once the deposit has been received, we will schedule your boat build - this can take up to 28 days but may be sooner, depending on work loads at the time. The remaining 75% payment is due prior to collection or before it leaves our workshop for shipping.
